Course Description

Course Overview

Lower Sixth Arts History is a comprehensive course designed to introduce learners to important historical developments in Cameroon, Africa, and the wider world. The course helps students understand how societies, political systems, economies, cultures, religions and international relationships have developed over time.

The course goes beyond memorising dates and historical facts. It encourages learners to understand historical events, identify their causes and consequences, examine different perspectives, interpret historical evidence, and connect past events to present-day realities.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed through regular quizzes, exercises, topic tests, source-based activities, revision activities and GCE-style examination questions. These assessments are designed to monitor progress, reinforce learning and prepare students for advanced-level History examinations.

Course Goal

The overall goal of the Lower Sixth Arts History course is to help learners develop a strong foundation in historical knowledge and thinking, while preparing them for Upper Sixth studies and future academic pursuits.
