Course Description

This Yakili online course, developed for the Cameroon GCE Advanced Level Commercial stream Accounting and TIMS syllabus, provides a critical and practical foundation in OHADA Financial Accounting. The course focuses on the application of the OHADA accounting system, which governs financial reporting across much of West and Central Africa. The curriculum systematically covers the entire accounting cycle, starting with the analysis of Source Documents and recording transactions in the Books of Original Entry (Day Books and Cash Book). It emphasizes mastering the Double-Entry System and the Ledger, maintaining Cash Control through Bank Reconciliation Statements, and identifying and correcting errors via the Suspense Account. Crucially, the course culminates in the preparation of basic Final Accounts (Trading, Profit and Loss Account, and Balance Sheet) for a sole proprietorship, presented in the required OHADA format.
