Course Requirements

Students enrolling in Form 5 History are expected to have successfully completed Form 4 History or an equivalent level. They should possess a basic understanding of historical events, timelines, and key concepts such as cause and consequence, continuity and change, and historical significance.

Students should also demonstrate:

Course Description

The Form 5 History course is designed to provide students with a solid understanding of key historical events, developments, and themes that have shaped societies over time. The course introduces learners to important political, social, economic, and cultural transformations at national, African, and global levels.

Students will study topics such as colonization and decolonization, world conflicts, nationalism, international relations, and the development of modern states. Emphasis is placed on understanding causes and consequences of historical events, analyzing different perspectives, and making connections between the past and present.

Through class discussions, source analysis, and structured writing, students will develop skills in critical thinking, interpretation, and communication while gaining an appreciation of historical heritage and identity.

Course Outcomes

Upon completion of the Form 5 History course, students will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of major historical events and developments that have influenced the modern world.
